bump & cradle

At Bump and Cradle, the mission is to educate and empower families by providing them with essential knowledge, support, and care as they navigate the journey into parenthood. Offering personalized antenatal classes, comprehensive baby planning, and nurturing postpartum doula services, Bump and Cradle ensures that each family feels valued and supported. Rooted in core values of integrity, empathy, compassion, empowerment, respect, and trust, the brand aims to create a community where families can confidently make informed decisions about their birthing experience and parenthood.

the challenge

The primary challenge was to design a brand identity that reflects Bump and Cradle’s core values while appealing to modern families seeking support through the stages of parenthood. The brand needed a visual presence that communicates professionalism, care, and trust, while also standing out in a competitive market. It was important that the brand not only resonate emotionally with expecting parents but also represent the unique range of services offered by founder Nicky McEntee. The challenge was to balance a sense of nurturing care with the empowerment Bump and Cradle strives to provide.






design direction and results

In response to the brief, I created a brand identity that embodies the classic beauty and simplicity Bump and Cradle represents. The design direction focused on creating an elegant yet approachable aesthetic that conveys the brand’s values of support, empathy, and empowerment.

The visual identity features a timeless serif font, paired with a clean sans-serif for balance, making the brand both inviting and professional. The centerpiece of the design is a creatively reimagined ampersand symbol, which transforms into a woman holding a baby. This unique symbol encapsulates the heart of the brand’s services, symbolizing care and the comprehensive support offered by Nicky McEntee.

The colour palette of dark blue, soft blue, light pink, and amber was carefully chosen to reflect calmness, warmth, and trust. To further enhance the brand’s visual appeal, I incorporated hand-painted textures and floral illustrations. Each flower symbolizes an important value: bluebells for kindness, daffodils for hope and new beginnings, and roses for empathy. These elements come together to tell the brand’s story in a way that feels personal and nurturing.

The result is a cohesive, memorable brand identity that truly resonates with Bump and Cradle’s target audience, giving families a sense of trust, care, and empowerment from the first interaction with the brand.





Interview with Nicky McEntee

Where were you and your business before we worked together?

I didn't have branding or a website. I had no where to send my client or a way for them to find me outside of socila media. I was spending hours on Canva trying to create posts, navigating the 100's of fonts, colurs nad templates. I wanted to have everything streamlined, and a way for clients to find me.

Why did you choose me over other designers?

I had followed you on Instagram for years. I had learnt so much from your post and stories. I found you very relatable and your work was outstanding. I always knew when the time was write I wanted to work with you. I didn't look for any other web designer/ brand designer.

How was the process of working with me?

It was seemless. Every single step of the way from our fisrt call to our last. You were so approachable, and fantastic to work with. You really understood my brand, my vision and my core values.

How do you feel about your brand and website now?

I am obessed with both. I love the colours, the tone, the flowers, the fonts andhow it reflects me. My website is comparred to no one else and it stands out from the crowd. It is professional looking and is the first feeling clients get about working with me.

What results have you experienced since launching your brand?

I am getting lots of enquires through my website, lots of beautiful feedback about both the website and branding. My confidence has grown in my business too beacuse of it. It shows my commitment to my role and my work.

What was your favourite part of working with me?

How reassuring you were, especially when things felt overwhealming or out of my comfort zone. When you delt with my domain host, did lots of technical back ground stuff for me that I wouldn't have been able to do and helped with legal blurb like GDPR. These where not so glamorous but they were my biggest struggles. And I loved every part of working wiht you, you are such a beautiful soul.

Working with Roberta was the best decision I made for my business. From our first call to unboarding the projects, she was such a pleasure to work with. Before we worked to gether I had no branding, website or professional photograpy. Nowhere for potential clients to find me outside social media. I was spending hours on Canva trying to choosing clours, fonts and templates. Roberta got to the heart og my brand and created the most beautiful brand design that mirrors my core values.
